Prayer: A dialogue between
God and people, especially His covenant partners. (Holman Bible
Dictionary)
Ephesians 6:18: Praying always with all
prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with
all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Purpose: As we all know, when the presence of
God comes into the place then God is pleased. As children of God, we
desire to abide in His presence in His good pleasure and to be
filled to the full with His Holy Spirit.
This ministry serves this church through committed, fervent praying
individuals with an "expectancy of answered prayer" based on the
many promises of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is our
desire that this ministry will benefit the church through
intercessory prayer, fasting, revival, Christian growth, prayer
workshops, and salvation of souls as it continues its goal of
kingdom building.
Mission: To know God and His perfect
will for our church through fervent prayer and supplications through
the Spirit. Co laboring with our Lord and Savior through the power
of the Holy Spirit, we call those things that are not as though they
are, accomplishing the will of God for the body of Christ in its
role of spreading the gospel.
Goals:
To pray continually for the church, its
organizations, and ministries (Col. 1:9-12),
· To maintain unity among the body of believers that
they all may be one as God and Christ are one (John 17:20-21),
· To develop a powerful prayer ministry through daily
commitment of being filled with the Holy Spirit and praying with an
attitude of authority and confidence that God hears and answers
prayers (John 14:13-14);
· To seek committed saints who will agree in united
prayer (Mat. 18:19) to exercise their faith in God’s word (Mk.
11:22-24;
· To bring blessings to the church with the Spirit’s
outpouring of revival (Ps. 85:6), Christian growth, prayer
workshops, and the salvation of souls.
Types of prayer:
Confession--of sin in our lives
and our helpless state before Him (Dan.9:20-21; Acts 19:18)
Praise--expression of love and adoration to God for
who He is (Acts 16:25)
Thanksgiving--thanks for God’s blessings of
provisions, protection and peace (Phil. 4:6-7)
Petition--surrender of our will, mind, and emotion
to express the requests of our heart to God (1 John 5:14-15)
Supplication--fervent and desperate form of
petition, more powerful, emotional, and forceful. (Hebrews 5:7)
Faith--The prayer of faith is boldly speaking a
command of faith against a problem… ALOUD! – (Mark 11:22-23)
Forgiveness--hurt or offended by another. Mark
11:25-26
Intercession--willingness to stand in the gap for
others in the presence of the Lord (1 Tim. 2:1)
Meditation--reflection on God’s word and listening
to His voice (Ps.1:2; 19:14)
Warfare (Authority, Binding & Loosing)--recognition
of spiritual attacks that we face in our lives as we pray against
strongholds (Mat. 18:18; 2 Cor. 10:3-5)
